Aimee Tan BacPath 13: Molecular Analysis of Bacterial Pathogens Conference 2015

Aimee Tan

Aimee is a microbial geneticist with interests in the field of bacterial regulation, and how mechanisms of regulation contributed to the development, spread and evolution of pathogenesis. She is currently part of the McDevitt group, currently located at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Melbourne. Her work focuses on metal homeostasis in pathogenic bacterial species including Streptococcus pneumoniae, Moraxella catarrhalis and Klebsiella pneumoniae. Prior to this, she has worked with Kate Seib at Griffith University’s Institute for Glycomics on epigenetic regulatory proteins and virulence pathways in M. catarrhalis and N. meningitidis. She attained her PhD the University of Melbourne, where she studied under the supervision of Ji Yang and Roy Robins-Browne, and has been a member of ASM since 2007.
